Technology/IT Support Analyst
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administers and programs telephones on a Nortel OTM Software and voicemail software on Call Pilot.
- Responds to and corrects system malfunctions.
- Helps firm members precede with daily routines with minimal interruptions.
- Provides information to the Director, Technology and firm members once cause of system failure has been determined.
- Ensures firm members have uninterrupted communication by replacing all hardware equipment pertaining to telephone equipment.
- Make software changes to the telephone and voicemail system as required, based on firm activity.
- Maintain all telephone and modem records, lists, extension maps and modem maps.
- Order/cancel calling cards and maintain records.
- Responsible for internal and external communications services
- Assist internal and external clients with technology needs, as required for various conference equipment.
- Demonstrates service to firm members on a daily basis for the above duties.
- Special projects and assignments pertaining to voice communications as requested by Director, Technology.
- Arranges service schedules with service providers.
- Responsible for all voice communication and fax invoices.
- Assists Finance staff with cost recovery.
- Helps in planning and scheduling various software/hardware upgrades to desktops and laptops to keep them current in Toronto and in all other offices.
- Ensure the network systems are properly maintained by adding, changing or deleting users/groups.
- Ensure user accesses are correct and conform to set standards.
- Identifies recurring problems encountered by users, which indicate opportunities to train users or improve hardware and software.
- Evaluates and conducts performance reviews for the staff reporting to her/him and discuss them with the Director, Finance & Administration.
- Provides expertise and guidance to co-workers and staff through accurate and patient dissemination of knowledge.
- Keeps necessary skills up to date by participating in any training deemed necessary to the Director, Technology (approved training expenses will be covered).
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required:
- Strong team building, organization, communication and leadership skills
- Must have very sound computer hardware and desktop operating system knowledge.
- High level of MS WORD and MS OFFICE in general
- Must be able to use project management software and have strong management skills.
- Must be a creative thinker with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems intuitively.
- Superior communication skills both written and oral.
- Detailed.
- Must have the capacity to learn and apply new skills quickly. Must be self-motivated.
- Must be capable of independent decision-making.
- Must be a strong team player and be able to work in an environment where collaborative troubleshooting is frequently employed.
- Must be Must be flexible and unfazed by unforeseen emergencies.
- Thorough knowledge of OTM software
- Ability to program and maintain Call Pilot voicemail system.
- Must have a strong customer focus

Responsibilities:
The right candidate must be mature, professional, positive and organized, very conscientious, keen, and eager, have the ability to work independently and efficiently.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Accountable for supporting the financial advisor so he can optimally gain new clients and new business. In harmony with this objective is an emphasis on satisfying client needs and expectations through efficient and effective service.
MAJOR CHALLENGES:
- Working in a dynamic and changing environment with new expectations, and multiple priorities which change frequently
